My approach to art instruction is based on an exploration of the senses. Tuning into our senses gives us insight into the ways in which we take in and interact with the world around us, and opens us to a rich and dynamic range of creative expression already existing within each and every person. You do not have to be “good at drawing” to participate. Classes are open to drawers at any level of creative experience, from zero to professional artists.
I have 15 years of experience working with students in individual and group settings, inside and outside of institutions. I came to develop this approach to drawing through my own multi-disciplinary art and research practice, and through interactions with practitioners of various disciplines, including somatic healers, health and wellness coaches, embodiment educators, as well as creative professionals of all kinds. I hold an MFA from the Department of Art History, Visual Art and Theory from the University of British Columbia.
