These works are from my 2015 Deep Creek series, all made in the Deep Creek nature preserve in Western Maryland. These works feature composting and recombining emergent and entangled biological forms that I observed and imagined while drawing in the forest. These works were created between 2010-2014 and are included in “Sister Death: Political Theologies for Living and Dying” by Beatrice Marovich. Animating this series of walnut ink drawings drawings on paper are creatures who refuse categorization as a singular being, hovering between becoming or negating, between life and death.

These works were created between 2022-2025 and are made with tinted cotton paper pulp poured on canvas, and then drawn and painted again after drying. This process combines a process called pulp painting with more widely familiar drawing and painting methods. Both works explore ways of rendering bodies without separating them from their environments, a philosophical approach to thinking about humans and the world I call posthumanist figure drawing.

This selection of works are watercolor and ink on paper and were made between 2018 - 2019. These works explore the beauty and horror of living as a woman in the world, and the erotic as a force that moves us into deep relationship with the world, with the alterities, the shadows, the fire, the unknown edges of what could be called “self.” Ink and watercolor on paper.

The first 2 were created in 2022 when I was making works exploring night, night rain, darkness, dark water, and the feelings and energies that pulse through these environments. The last piece was made in 2026 by combining multiple angles of the same figure in one embrace. Colored pencil on black paper, watercolor pencil on paper.
